It was in 2011, in the middle of a profound awakening experience during a retreat on Maui with my teachers, Gangaji and Eli, that the idea to create a musical about spiritual awakening first appeared. Throughout the past decade this project has advanced in fits and starts. At this stage—2021—it's a good way along in the creation of this very complex art form, and I'm excited about it, but it's definitely not there yet.
